PROGRAMME OVERVIEW
This practical workshop includes all aspects of modern housekeeping management. It is suitable for Executive Housekeepers, Housekeeping Managers, Rooms Division Managers, Head Housekeepers, Assistant and Deputy Housekeepers and all those responsible for housekeeping operations….. and will deliver skills which will improve business outcomes, improve the performance of the team and better customer experiences.
This three day workshop focuses on the multiple roles of the Housekeeping Manager as a Senior Manager, Integrator and Operational Specialist.
Learning outcomes include housekeeping specific financial management, housekeeping operations, staff training & performance management, leadership skills for the housekeeping manager and quality control tools and tips.
Development programme sessions are lively and interactive, encouraging participation through interactive exercises, networking and shared experiences.
Course Fee £400 includes daily morning tea, light lunch, afternoon tea and all course materials.

Day 1: The role as Senior Manager – managing finance and managing people
1/2 DAY FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
Learn how to make smart business decisions which impact the business through a clear understanding of the analysis and actioning of the Rooms Division P&L.
Acquire useful tools to control costs, ensuring KPI’s and monthly goals are met, as well as managing monthly results.
Take control of expenses through smart rostering, intelligent stocktakes and meaningful measurement of productivity.
Discover ways to plan, prepare and present budgets for Housekeeping costs including labour, operating supplies and all expense lines relating to Housekeeping operations
1/2 DAY COACHING SKILLS AND STAFF MANAGEMENT
Learn and understand the cycle of coaching.
Develop quick and effective training programmes with essential follow up.
Acquire skills on how to deliver clear expectations to the team using techniques such as talking straight, active listening and demonstrating respect.
Gain valuable skills in tools for correcting poor performance.
Uncover ways to develop trust in order to give credit to others and create loyalty.
Day 2: The role as Integrator - team leadership and motivation
Learn how to integrate Housekeeping vision and goals with all other stakeholders including team members, supervisors, peers, senior managers, corporate office and owners.
Develop the ability to present and sell an idea or project with winning results which will gain trust and elevate the profile of the Housekeeping Department
Understand how to create a motivating environment for the team through shared ideas from the group by adding employee value, instilling pride in the brand and the Department through great teamwork
Learn how delegating works as a tool to motivate the team.
Discuss and share ideas on celebrating success.
Develop the skills required to improve self-branding and managing up.
Undertake a group exercise in crisis management.
Day 3: The role as Operational Specialist - Housekeeping Operations and Quality Control Management
Learn the importance of effective housekeeping quality control techniques and tools.
Practice problem solving and come up with a clear action plan which delivers results
Gain insight into the tools required for performance measurement including quality control checklists, measuring, analysing and improving results
Learn quality control through the implementation of training programmes for Room Attendants with proactive follow-up.
Develop winning strategies by collaborating with external contractors and agencies.
Undertake a cost benefit analysis of contracting-out versus in-house operations.
Bring all the learnings from the 3 days together and develop an action plan to move the Department forward
Look into the future of Housekeeping through a presentation on "The future Of Housekeeping - Trends and Innovations in 2023"
