Sustainable guest supplies at the Park Hyatt, Abu Dhabi

On my recent stopover in Abu Dhabi, it was great to have a show around by Ram Chena, Executive Housekeeper at the Park Hyatt property. Ram has worked hard to get almost 100% sustainable products throughout the guest rooms. The composition of the bathroom amenities packaging is waterproof paper.  The waterproof recycled paper is prepared by pulping wastepaper and papermaking plant fiber as raw materials, mixing it to a pulp and then adding waterproof additives such as resin and starch. He is also working with his vendors to replace plastic packaged mouthwash with glass and the shaving and dental cream with shaving foam and recyclable aluminum tubes. He is using two vendors Sinosung and Pearl Coast, both are based in Dubai who have a collaboration with one of the leading guest supplies providers – Ming Fei based in Hong Kong.

It’s so great to see such amazing efforts to reduce single use plastics and all the amenities that go into landfill with a lot of commitment and drive.
